INSTRUCTIONS FOR SNO-CLEAT TRACTION PRODUCTSThank you for purchasing Sno-Cleat Traction products, the finest quality traction products available for the floor board of your Arctic Cat snowmobile. We have been designing and manufacturing floor board traction products since 1989. No other company past or present has as much experience manufacturing floor board traction products as CPC!
Step #1. Sno-Cleat traction plates can be used for traction only or they can be laid our and holes can then be cut out to allow snow and ice to fall through the holes. Lay both the left hand and right hand floor board traction plates on the floor board.
Center the plates on the floor board so that the cut outs on the plates miss the rivets on the tunnel. Next use a C-clamp to clamp the plate to the floor board.
Step #2. Using the traction plate as a template, mark the out edges of the holes to be cut out with a felt tip pen. Note: Use a 3/8 drill bit, drill all corners to be cut out. This is critical in order to avoid cracking of the tunnel.
Step #3. Use a cut off wheel or pneumatic saws-all or a jig saw,cut out the areas that you want the snow to fall through. If you are going to cut all holes out, it is easier to remove the entire section rater than each square hole. After all the holes are cut out, take a file and remove and burrs.
Step #4. There are two different types of rivet kits to use to attach the plates to the tunnel. If you use solid aircraft aluminum style rivets, you will need a 5/32 (.156) drill bit. If you use the pop-rivet style then you will use a 3/16 (.187) drill bit. Note: When riveting the plates to the tunnel, start in the middle and work out the ends. It is also easier to attach the vertical tunnel support before you rivet the bottom to the floor board.
